Web of Science ResearcherID:
Bio: Luke is currently a senior lecturer at the Health Futures Institute at Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. Working within the Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC), Luke uses mass spectrometry to understand the molecular mechanisms that underpin neurodegeneration. He was awarded his PhD at King’s College London, and as part of his PhD he completed a research exchange at CEMBIO, where he helped develop mass spectrometry lipidomic methods that he subsequently applied to improving the understanding lipid metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease. Before moving to Australia Luke spent time in outside of academic research, including positions in the anti-doping laboratories at the London Olympics and Glasgow Commonwealth games, and the UK Ministry of Defence. Luke then completed two post-doctoral positions at Imperial College London - here, he initially developed mass spectrometry assays at the UK National Phenome Centre (NPC) and then worked within the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK-DRI) investigating metabolomics in clinical dementia studies.
