Bio: Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Edgar Moraes studied chemistry at University of São Paulo (2001), where he obtained a Master's degree (2004) and also a Ph.D. (2008) in Analytical Chemistry under the guidance of Marina Tavares, before coming to Universidad CEU San Pablo as a postdoctoral researcher (2010) under the supervision of Coral Barbas. Upon returning to Brazil, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University of São Paulo (2011) in peptidomics. He is currently associate professor I at Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN, working in the Biological Chemistry and Chemometrics group (BCC). The Moraes group works in the field of Analytical Chemistry to design new methods and sensors based on chemometrics, separation and spectroscopy sciences.
